Hands folding...

Not long after my son Ken died in 2002, some friends folded a thousand paper cranes for us, which we hung beside his funerary altar until I moved to Kyoto in 2006. Since then Roberto Ramone has been keeping them for us, until this week, when he arranged to have them hung at the Children’s Memorial in the Hiroshima Peace Park.
As it’s been over a decade since I’ve last seen the cranes, I’m unable to recognize them. But they hang somewhere in here, amongst the other folded tangible prayers, for the cessation of wars that continue to prematurely terminate innocent lives.
